The action was hot just like the weather as the night of racing began at Butler County Motorplex Friday night. Ashley Titus from Norfolk led the first of three GOTRA heat races from start to finish.
Malachy Hoadley, Monroe finished second as Jeff Zimmerman was third and Richard Ferguson fourth. Jerry Sperling controlled the second GOTRA heat with the win. Glenn Barber was second, Ron Strohlman and Chad Aldrich rounded out the top four. Rich Anderson won the final heat race with Chris Lavicky, John Connelly Jr, and Tom Nissen.
James Kleinheksel won the first of two IMCA Modified heat races. Chris Alcorn was second, Scott Bivens third and James Moore fourth. Mike Densberger, Scott Styskal, Tom Svoboda and Dylan Smith took the top four positions in the second IMCA Modified heat race.
Shawn Turner won the IMCA Sport Compact heat race as Dan Rhiley, Jake Sells and John Sedlachek rounded out the field.
Shane Schneider dominated the first of two IMCA Hobby Stock heat races. Jeremy Hoskinson was second followed by Rich Small and Brandon Kresha. Nick Topil took the honors in the second heat race. Dusty Poessnecker was second followed by Quinten Spragg and Mike Goldfuss.
Denny Berghahn Jr. won the first of two IMCA Sport Mod heat races. Geoff Olson was second, Brandon Jessen third and Steve Swarthout fourth. Max Harder controlled the second heat with the win as Rod Bronson was second, Jim Hendricks third and Kevin Kloke fourth.
Gary Delp led the first of two GOTRA features from the start throught lap ten as Jerry Sperling made his way to the front. Sperling took the lead on lap eleven and continued for the win. Gary Delp was second, Malach Hoadley third and Mike Nissen fourth. Ron Strohlan led the second GOTRA feature from start to finish. Chris Lavicky made his way up to finish second with Jim Sylvester third and John Connelly Jr. fourth.
Dan Rhiley won the Sport Compact feature as John Sedlachek was second, Jake Sells third and Matt Moyer fourth.
Rich Small took the lead in the IMCA Hobby Stock feature and continued until the final three laps as Jeremy Hoskinson took the lead and the win. Dusy Poessnecker moved into second on the white flag lap dropping Small to third and Brandon Kresha was fourth.
Kevin Kloke led the first lap of the IMCA Sport Mod feature but then Max Harder took control and continued for the win. Denny Berghahn Jr. finished second with Geoff Olson moved into third and Jim Hendircks was fourth.
Tom Svoboda took the lead as the IMCA Modfied feature got started. Svoboda continued his lead for the win as Chris Alcorn moved from last place to second. Scott Bivens managed to hold on for third place and Mike Stearns finished fourth.
The management at Butler County Motorplex was happy to see all the fans at the races and would like to remind everyone that the Kornhusker Klassic Midget races with drivers from across the US will begin at 7:00 pm Monday July 28th.
