Butler County Motorplex Ð Rising City, NE - June 5, 2009 Recap Warm weather, calm winds and forecasts for rain that did not come until the end of the show made for a spectacular night of racing at Butler County Motorplex. Rod Bronson grabbed the lead in the first of two IMCA Sport Mod heat races. Bronson continued his lead for the win. Jim Hendricks moved into finish second with Kyle Harpster third and Kevin Kloke fourth. Denny Berghahn took the lead at the mid-point of heat number two and held on for the win. Jesse Sobbing was second, Ron Allen third and Brandon Jessen fourth. IMCA Modified driver Scott Styskal took the lead on lap two in the first of three heat races for their division. Styskal continued for the win as Mike Stearns, Justin Jurgens and Mike Densberger rounded out the top four. Shane Stutzman controlled the second heat with a best average lap speed of 79.3 mph. Brian Levander was second, Chad Anderson third and fourth went to Shane Hiatt. Chris Alcorn controlled the third heat race for the win. Kyle Berck finished second followed by Tom Svoboda and Jarrod Wiechert. Mike Ganskow managed to get the lead for the final two laps in the first of three heats for the GOTRA division of race cars. Bob Schalk had to settle for second followed by Bobby French and Malacy Hoadley. Jeremy Orlowski won the second heat followed by Jeff Ferguson, Chad Aldrich and John Ferguson. Heat number three went to Bill Wrich. John Orlowski Jr, Ron Stohlmann and Jim Sylvester rounded out the top four. Butch Lavicky flipped on the backstretch and was transported but reports later indicated he was lucky and did not receive any serious injuries. Bill Wrich won the GOTRA Trophy Dash followed by Mike Ganskow, Jeremy Orlowski, and Ron Stohlmann Anthony Melcher grabbed the lead as the first of two IMCA Hobby Stock heats began. Dan Pittman took the lead on lap five but Jeremy Hoskinson got the lead on the next lap and continued for the win. Melcher dropped to second with Brady Fernau third and Lee Kracht took fourth. Rich Small won the second heat race finishing just one second ahead of Dusty Poessnecker. Brandon Kresha was third and Dion Kovar finished fourth. Jeremy Noonan won the first of two IMCA Sport Compact heat races leading from start to finish. John Sedlachek was second followed by Ricky Harris and Jared Deterding. Garrett Rech controlled the second heat race as Trevor Noonan finished second, Mike Poland third and Levi Stoakes was fourth. Trevor Noonan took the lead as the Sport Compact feature began. Trevor continued for the win as Garrett Rech finished second, Jeremy Noonan was third and Ricky Harris fourth. Jim Hendricks took the lead from Kevin Kloke on lap three of the feature race in the IMCA Sport Mod division. Hendricks continued his lead until the final five laps as Jesse Sobbing took the lead and continued for the win. Hendricks held on for second followed by Brandon Jessen and Kyle Harpster. Larry Aldrich grabbed the lead in the first of two A-features of the GOTRA division. Jeremy Orlowski took the lead with five laps remaining and continued for the win. Larry Aldrich was second, Johnny Orlowski III third and Chad Aldrich was fourth. Ron Stohlmann took the lead from Jerry Sperling on lap three of the second feature. Stohlmann continued his lead but on the final lap Roger Ruwe took the lead for the win. Stohlmann finished second followed by John Orlowski Jr. and Jim Sylvester. Anthony Melcher led the first five laps in the IMCA Hobby Stock feature before Brady Fernau moved into the lead. Fernau continued to lead until the final four laps as Dusty Poessnecker took the lead to make it five feature wins in a row. Brandon Kresha finished .7 seconds behind him for second place. Lee Kracht took third and Brady Fernau dropped to fourth. Shane Stutzman led the first eleven laps in the IMCA Modified feature before Chris Alcorn took control of the race. AlcornÕs win was the fourth week in a row that he took the win. Stutzman finished second with Terry Richards third and Scott Styskal was fourth.
