Butler County Motorplex Ð Rising City, NE - May 22, 2009 Recap

Warm weather and calm winds were more than welcome for ÒFan Appreciation NightÓ  at Butler County Motorplex Friday night after the past three weeks of cold windy weather.  Everything went relatively smooth resulting in the program being completed, even with an extra class of cars, by 10:45 pm.

Jim Hendricks grabbed the lead in the first heat of the night and continued for the win in the IMCA Sport Mod division.  Hank DeWild was second, Chris Nolan third and Jason Penke fourth.  Nathan Kobus took the lead in the second heat but Kyle Becker took control on lap two.  Kevin Kloke took the lead on lap three but lost an engine later.  Denny Berghahn Jr. won the race followed by Ron Allen, Nathan Kobus and Kyle Becker.

The first heat in the IMCA Modified division saw Jarrod Wiechert take the early lead but Dan Neeman took control on lap number two.  Scot Styskal took the lead on lap five and continued for the win.  Shane Hiatt was second with Dan Neeman and Brian Levander rounding out the top four.  Jim Krupicka controlled the second IMCA Modified heat from start to finish.  Scott Bivens was second, Chris Alcorn third and Josh Hessheimer fourth.  Tom Svoboda cotrolled the third heat with the win.  Terry Richards was second, Shane Stutzman third and Greg Johns fourth.

Jeremy Smith led the first of two heats in the Outlaw Street Stock class.  Darrin Adamy took over on lap two and continued for the win.  Joe RUnquist was second, Brent Drohman third and Jeremy Smith fourth.  Roger Eaton dominated the second heat until the final lap as Shawn Primrose passed Eaton for the win.  Eaton was second, Doug Adamy third and Herb Slough fourth.

John Sedlachek led the entire first heat in the IMCA Sport Compact division for the win.  Mike Simpson was second, Garrett Rech third and Nic Hitz fourth.  Jeremy Noonan controlled the second heat and took the win as Trevor Noonan, Tyler Leicy, and Brian Smith rounded out the top four.

IMCA Hobby Stock Rookie driver Dion Kovar led the first two laps in heat number one.  Damon Richards took control on lap three and continued for the win.  Dusty Poessnecker was second followed by Lee Kracht and Branden Wergin.  Kyle Hein led the first two laps in the second heat before Jeremy Hoskinson took control and got the win.  Quinten Spragg was second with Kyle Hein third and Mike Goldfuss was fourth.  Eric Hanson took the lead in the final heat race.  Marcus Sehi led lap two but Hanson took the lead again and lap three and continued for the win.  Brady Fernau was second, Brandon Kresha third and Duane Schroeder fourth.

Garrett Rech led the first three laps of the IMCA Sport Compact feature before Jeremy Noonan took the lead and the win.  Rech held on for second with Mike Simpson third and Jason Miller was fourth.

Shawn Primrose took the lead as the Outlaw Street Stock feature began.  Primrose continued to stretch his lead during the race and hold on for the win.  Roger Eaton finished second with Darrin Adamy third and Brent Drohman fourth.  There was extra money awarded as promoter Jacy Todd told all drivers during the pit meeting that any division not having a yellow flag he would pay an extra bonus to each driver completing the race. 

Hank DeWild was feeling good about the IMCA Sport Mod feature as he took the lead as the race began and continued his lead but then on the final lap he dropped to second as Jim Hendricks took the win.  Denny Berghahn Jr was third and Kyle Harpster fourth.

Lead changes along with yellow and red flags appeared during the IMCA Hobby Stock feature.  On the final lap of the race Dusty Poessnecker managed to edge out Lee Kracht by .06 second for the win.  Kracht was second followed by Jeremy Hoskinson and Damon Richards.

Tom Svoboda led most the IMCA Modified feature but got edged out for the final three laps of  the race by Chris Alcorn.  Svoboda finished second with Shane Hiatt third and Scott Bivens fourth.
