Butler County Motorplex Ð May 15, 2009

Skies cleared, temperatures dropped and the wind increased again for the program at Butler County Motorplex Friday night.

Kyle Harpster saw the first checkered flag of the night as he won heat number one in the IMCA Sport Mod division.  Gary Saathoff, Benji Legg and Ron Allen rounded out the top four.  Jesse Sobbing won the second heat with Hank DeWild second, Rod Bronson third and Max Harder was fourth.

IMCA Modified driver Randy Brown took the win in the first of three heat races.  Lacey Tuttle was second with Greg Johns third and James Kleinheksel fourth.  Scott Styskal won heat number two with Jordan Grabouski, Shane Stutzman and Tom Svoboda in the top four.  Terry Richards won the final IMCA Modified heat race holding Chris Alcorn to second.  Shane Hiatt and Justin Jurgens took the final places.

Kyle Hein won the first of three IMCA Hobby Stock heat races with Nick Beckman second, Rich Small third and Duane Schroeder fourth.  Eric Hanson won the honors in heat two followed by Lee Kracht, Brandon Kresha and Josh Kennell.  Dusty Poessnecker got the win in the third heat.  Branden Wergin, Shawn Slezak and Jeremy Hoskinson rounded out the top four. 

Mike Simpson took the win in the first of two heats in the Sport Compact division.  Brock McDougal was second, Jeff Davis third and Jeremy Noonan fourth.  Garrett Rech won the second heat in the IMCA Sport Compact division as Hunter Wergin, Nick Lindblad and John Sedlachek filled the top four.

James Pittman grabbed the lead in the IMCA Hobby Stock B-Feature and continued for the win despite several caution flags.  Brandon Johnson was second, Shane Slezak third and Quinten Spragg fourth.

Mike Stearns led the IMCA Modified feature from green to checkered.  Scott Bivens was second, Todd Topil third and Jarrod Wiechert fourth.

Dusty Poessnecker got the win in the Hobby Stock A-Feature making it two weeks in a row.  Branden Wergin controlled second with Lee Kracht third and Nick Beckman fourth.

Mike Simpson won the caution filled IMCA Sport Compact feature.  One driver was transported to the hospital as a safety precaution.  Jeremy Noonan finished second with John Sedlachek third and Nick Lindblad was fourth.

Jesse Sobbing took the lead as the IMCA Sport Mod feature began.  Sobbing managed to stay in the front for the duration of the race to take the win and end Denny Berghahn Jr.Õs  streak after he won four in a row.  Gary Saathoff finished second with Kyle Harpster third and Ron Allen fourth.

Terry Richard grabbed the lead in the IMCA Modified feature and continued his lead until lap thirteen when Chris Alcorn took control of the race.  Alcorn continued for the win with Richards finishing second, Jordan Grabouski third and Tom Svoboda was fourth.

Next Friday is Fan Appreciation night with reduced admission prices to the Grandstand.  Also the Outlaw Open Street Stock drivers will again be at the Motorplex to join the racing action.
