Butler County Motorplex Ð Rising City, NE - July 10, 2009 Recap Nick Topil took advantage of his front row starting position and put on a show for the race fans on ÒFan Appreciation NightÓ at Butler County Motorplex Friday night. Nick led the first of two IMCA Sport Mod heat races from start to finish. Hank DeWild finished second with Denny Berghahn Jr. in second and Ron Allen fourth. Nathan Kobus led the first two laps of heat number two before Jim Hendircks took the lead and the win. Kobus held on for second with new comer Robert Tippery third and Rod Bronson fourth. Justin Wulf led the first seven laps in the first of three IMCA Modified heat races but then Chris Alcorn took the lead and the win. Wulf held on for second with Scott Bivens third and Ross Afrank was fourth. Jarrod Wiechert led the second heat until the half-way point of the race. Terry Richards got the lead on lap six and continued for the win. Shane Stutzman was second with Mike Stearns and Tom Svoboda rounding out the top four. Jim Krupicka took the lead from Dan Rhiley on lap two of the final heat and continued his lead for the win. Scott Styskal moved up to capture second with Shane Hiatt third and Rhiley dropped to fourth. Erik Nelson of Grand Island took the lead in the first of two IMCA Sport Compact heats. Trevor Noonan took the lead on lap three but the win went to Jeremy Noonan. Trevor Noonan finished second, Garrett Rech third and Erik Nelson was fourth. Jeff Davis led the second heat race up to the white flag lap as John Sedlachek took control and the win. Davis held on to second with Mike Simpson third and Nic Hitz was fourth. Tiffany Bittner of Norfolk led the first IMCA Hobby Stock heat race from start to finish. Brandon Kresha moved up to take second with Brady Fernau third and Jim Buss was fourth. Eric Hanson controlled the second heat with the win. Marcus Sehi finished in second as Lee Kracht controlled third with Nelson Bollbrecht finishing fourth. Paul Albracht led the first three laps of the final heat race but dropped to second as Dusty Poessnecker took the lead and the win. Josh Kennell was third and Jeremy Hoskinson fourth. Brian Levander of Grand Island dominated the IMCA Modified B-feature as he led from green to checkered flag. James Kleinheksel moved up to take second with Paul Tindal of Eagle Hawk Australia was third and Jason Harms fourth. Nic Hitz took the lead at the start of the IMCA Sport Compact A-feature. John Sedlachek took the lead on lap three and continued his lead until the final three laps. Jeremy Noonan took the lead at that point of the race and got the win. John Sedlachek finished second, Garrett Rech was third and Erik Nelson fourth. Trevor Noonan finished fifth but was disqualified during tech-inspection following the race. Eric Hanson grabbed the lead as the IMCA Hobby Stock A-feature began. Hanson was thinking he had the win as he was still in the lead going the white flag but Dusty Poessnecker managed to make a pass and take another feature win before the two of them got back to the checkered flag. Hanson was second with Nelson Vollbrecht third and Jeremy Hoskinson fourth. Nick Topil grabbed the lead as the Sport Mod feature began and held onto the lead for duration of the race. Jim Hendricks finished second with Robert Tippery third and Kyle Harpster was fourth. Ross Afrank had the lead as the IMCA Modified A-feature began. Afrank continued his lead until lap five as Scott Bivens took control of the caution filled race. Bivens managed to keep the lead and get a win. Chris Alcorn moved up to finish second with Shane Stutzman third and James Kleinheksel was fourth.
